partickthedog
Whatever we may disagree on, I am sure that we will all be as one in saying that the only bright spark momentarily flaring through the Cappielow dreich and gloom was the powering header that Brice Ntambwe planted in the roof of the Morton net. Just prior to that Ntambwe had cheaply surrendered possession in his own half and we nearly lost a goal in similar manner to the one he donated to Inverness. When a defensive player is an obvious liability, what do we do? Step forward, master tactician Dick Campbell. Move the player as as far away from his own goal posts as you can. Make him a striker. That stroke of genius with Jukka Santala enabled a badly misfiring team with a dysfunctional goalkeeper (Colin Stewart) somehow to stay in touch with the top half of the table and eventually scramble a fortuitous promotion. Is this a Brice worth playing? Could the big man bag a few goals for himself and generally rumble up the opposing defence, creating space and opportunities from which the likes of Doolan and Quitongo could also benefit? Please do not take this proposal too seriously, but you never know, this could be the start of something. From a grain of Brice, a mighty forest may grow.

Using the DC logic should we have a forward line of Brice, McGinty, Elliot, Keown & Bell?
laukat
On Saturday he made a few mistakes by trying to be too clever. A couple of times he tried to dink the ball around a Morton player to a Thistle player in a forward position rather than play the pass he could see (did the same against ICT away). Also one other moment where he tried to outsmart the Morton attacker by cutting the pass off to the wing forgetting that he had just left a gap for the Morton player to run into. If Caldwell tells him to cut out the fancy stuff and play the pass he can see then his physique and positional sense should make him a very good defensive midfielder at this level. If our forward players don't start scoring soon, you never know. Noticed the corner we scored from, there was 4/5 Thistle players standing at the edge of the box. Then just before the ball was played in they ran into the box and I think this confused the Morton defenders. A training ground move that worked. The bizarre thing was the next 2 corners after that we decided to play a short corner. In that wind anything in the air was going to cause choas in the box but the late run to the box worked well as it didn't allow the Morton defence to pick out who each had to mark and before the goal McGinty put a header just wide from a similar move. Got to disagree , his goal apart on Saturday, he was like a fish out of water , absolutely no positional sense , he was neither a defensive midfielder or an attacking player, letting players run off him , he’s totally out of his depth even at our level .
Big Col
From what I’ve seen, he’s another Archibald dud signing and should be released in Jan. No better than some of the duds released in the summer.
