Followed the love my life since 1959 and have thrown many  'I'm no goin back tantrum'. But of course always did' Watched  so much sh*t over the years and shared glory games now and then with most of you. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I dont like to see anyone lose their jobs or shout abuse at them....but I will not be back till he goes. If I didnt know better I would think he's trying to sabotage our club. We arent creating any chances, and he doesnt pick the most creative player we have. What profile did he do on Erskine for his interview? I can hardly type coherently I am so angry.  In a nutshell.....Are you fnkn blind man??? Storey....WTF!!! STOREY......!!! Just play 10 men from the start it's the better option.

A team with sideways passes and more sideways passes.  Needed someone with a quick mind and a great first touch and we had him (plus his second touch was always so quick too). He moved forward as soon as he got the ball as it was his instinct.....unlike most of the others who's instinct was to stop and go back or play a safe ball.   I'm so sad, gutted and angry and what I've posted doesnt come near how I want to convey my feelings. So, apologies for the rant....we love you Chris and thanks for the memories big man. Caldwell, you should have listened to the fans. Too late now.

Well, someone who has watched the jags as long as me!   I agree 100%.     Thanks for the memories, Chris.    I hope you create chances and bang in a few goals for Livi

Been disappointed with our team for some time and now at a very low point I think we still have time to save ourselves from games against Forfar and Arbroath and Christ even Clyde!!!!!!  Act now the leaders of our wonderful club and move Gary on as it's not working !!! We still have time, good luck to Gary maybe in the polis as he looks like a constable caldwell.

Perhaps milhouse is meaning would we be happy if Chris had remained in the full knowledge that Caldwell would never have played him (injury crisis aside)?

The answer is Yes, as it would only have  been a temporary situation since Caldwell will be away soon.

One is a class person and a very good footballer , the other is an arrogant ******** who  ( for some reason) thinks he is something special.

Pretty sure Squiddy will be back in a managerial capacity within 5 years.

I beleave every club should have a player who plays to his own tune, call it the X factor or the Chic Charnley  equation.

somthing different to the pitch....

Erskine is that player.

However, that club statement removes all the pressure from the board or Caldwell imo.

Can  Chris issue his own statement of fact  ??  Wld the club wld sack him for” bring the club into disrepute.”

I hope he stays ....

If  he leaves the club I hope he comes out all guns blazing...

Well....that answers that question ! !

Could this be the first nail in a new coffin.....

Saturdays game might be the second !?!

It looks like we’ll save ourselves from trips to Arbroath in any case, seeing that they’re walking League one. Caldwell’s Jags replaced in the Championship by Dick Campbell’s Arbroath. This from being a top 6 side less than 2 years ago.

As the dust settles on yesterday’s events, I’ve been thinking about our plight.

Caldwell doesn’t seem a good fit for Thistle. His decision to remain living near Manchester should have been an early red flag. He is achieving less with the same players, his signings have been uninspiring. His management skills can’t be great if he couldn’t make a creative player such as Erskine feel valued.

The response from fans to our current trajectory into the third tier has ranged from indifference/denial, to apathy about attending Firhill for the remainder  of this season, to anger about how he hastened the dismantling of everything we have built since 2012-13.

Sadly, we will see a loss of income; from Jagzone subs cancelled, to ST’s not renewed. And from dwindling attendances and associated matchday spend.  I love our Club, I want it to succeed. But third tier football will deplete our income and leave us in the wilderness for some time. We don’t deserve to be another Chesterfield.

I genuinely think GC is out of his depth, but his own ‘confidence’ perhaps prevents him acknowledging that.

So the Board must act this month. Hold their hands up. Take the hit on his severance. Get someone in to take us to Chamionship safety.

Before it is too late.

Like, like, like. Been saying the same for sometime now as have many on here, the board aren't getting this message.

Anyhoo, i heard just this morning, following dalziell's out burst on the radio, that his good good best best pal billy davis is pure dead desperate to get back into the game. He has watched with much envy stevie clark having fun at killie.

Would he be a good fit at Thistle? Would he come? Surely caldwell is on his way out ala allan stubbs.................

In the absence of ian mccall, i'd take him.....but then again i did say i'd take julie fleeting rather than this clown

After the erksine episode and now that we have a clear disagreement between fans and Board/manager I wonder if it changes the criteria for what we need as a manager.

To restore some sense of togetherness we may now require a person who gets the fans back on side either because they have previous managerial success and/or someone who the fans can accept as one of their own.

So if we can't get McCall, Goodwin or Lennon then maybe someone like Stephen Craigan might now be a good option to the end of the season? Whilst he has no mangerial career he is undoubtly someone who has an affinity with the club.

If we did take a punt on someone without experience, then I think Doolan makes sense. He seems intelligent, already knows the players and is already on the payroll. It would be some risk though (although probably less of a risk than sticking with Caldwell, sadly).

One thing we can be sure of , if the board of PTFC do not act now, in years to come someone will write the play about a football team that got to top 6 of the Scottish Premier league one year, and then simply stopped playing.  That same team followed that relatively successful season with relegation, and then another relegation while the new manager and chairperson of the club sent each other spreadsheets on how to rebuild the team, while the football team were sent to boot camp to get covered in mud and made to feel uncomfortable.  Players who wanted to play for the club were persuaded to leave, and lesser players with no interest in the club brought in to replace the naturally gifted players.

On a personal note, this guy Caldwell is really p*ssing me off, I wanted to buy a 1/2 season ticket (used to work rotational shifts overseas, but retired at Xmas) and enjoy a reasonably exciting last half of the season where although IMO we were never going to get promotion, we were contenders to a third or fourth spot on the championship. That would have done for me to be honest, but now I cant buy the ST as that would make me appear to be supportive of GC and Ms Low, and I won't buy a ST as long as GC is at the club.

I get what you're saying and if it was Doolan then he would be someone we get behind. However he should as a player have another 2/3 years ahead of him. If we put him in as manager it would impact his playing time and if it doesn't go well then we might lose him as a player as well.

I think we now need someone who can come in until the end of the season and at least have the support onside but who equally knows that they might be out of a job in the summer even if they keep us up.

I can't see McCall or Goodwin taking that risk unless they were offered a long term contract, maybe Lennon but after that you're talking about trying to get someone in who's not in a job. Hughes, Pressley and the usual suspects have shown to have limited capabilities as managers and they defintely have zero affinity with the club. So perhaps Craigan might fit that set of requirements.

At the end of the Bunnet's period the club hired a short-term managerial team to bridge the gap. That might be the sensible option now.
