Felt sorry for him at Ayr.  First appearance and he was played at right-back where we discovered he had no right foot.  Didn't play enough games to show what he could do with his left.  Another in a long list over the last 10 years of loan players who were either out of their depth and/or never given the chance .  You've got to wonder how the club goes about these deals.

We really have wasted our parachute payment, panic signings as the season came closer have been disastrous.

Melbourne, Jefferies, and Scobbie must have played less than three league games in total Lennox, Mutombo, Ntambwe and Coulibaly are either injured or half fit.

Must be something other clubs look at when loaning out players.

Pretty unlucky with O'Ware and Gordon who both looked good in patches of the early games.

Two or three poor transfer windows in a row has accelerated our fall from grace and wasted a lot of money usually don't have.

Doubt very much if the loan signings have had much of an effect on the parachute payment or our overall player budget. If we made a mistake bringing in the likes of Melbourne then West Brom made an even bigger mistake loaning him to us. Therein maybe lies the problem as we have to take the parent club's assessment of the player more or less as gospel. Not saying it necessarily in this case but while we maybe know about the lad's potential and where he is on the road to realising it, we're likely to be in the dark re his maturity, attitude etc.

Sense tho' we tend to be dealt too many wild cards.
