Half Way Point

So we reach the half way point

Won 4 Drawn 2 Lost 12

We have both the worst goals against tally and have lost the most games in the league so far.

Since Caldwell came in we have Won 1 Drawn 2 and Lost 6

We sit second Bottom just 1 point above Falkirk and Part time Alloa sit 2 points above.

it has been an utter shambles so far and for me Caldwell hasn’t achieved anything since taking over.

maybe he needs his own Players  but he hasn’t improved any current players and that must be a concern.

Every team will loose goals that’s just the way football is but too win games you must score goals and for me this is the main area that needs changed.

our final 3rd needs a whole new set up and let’s hope this comes in January.

If he rates players like Scobbie and Jefferies I wouldn’t hold your breath on him bringing in talented players in January. I wouldn’t trust him to find his own arse with his hands, never mind trusting him with money to sign players.

Besides, who would want to sign for Thistle at this time? Sitting second bottom hurtling towards League 1.

It’s a sad state of affairs and Caldwell is not the answer. The board have made a monumental mistake appointing him. But they won’t have the balls to sack him, since it is not yet mathematically impossible for us to win the league.

It appears we interviewed only 1 guy for the job after trying to get Neilson after he’d agreed terms with United, several others applied but never got near. That is the boards fault.

We have no scouting network and haven’t for years. This is incompetent from the board.

We spent too long with a manager who had peeked and was on the decline, nearly 18 months of poor results a relegation yet still they pondered.  Again blame rests with board.

We signed players right at last minute, had no right back at start of season even though the board publically stated they would back Archie,  contradiction between public statements and private actions. A weak board.

We can blame Archie, we can blame Caldwell, but ultimately the shambles we are in rests with the board, they are halfway through their first season in charge and we’re a calamity off the park.

No argument with this.

This is spot on.

Add to that, we have repeatedly heard that “communication is key” from the board. And our Chairman literally works in PR. Yet communication from the club on multiple fronts continues to be poor. Today we played an individual who faces serious criminal charges, for example. Where is the communication from the club around this?

There continues to be a serious gap between rhetoric and reality that permeates from the board to the management.

To me these kind of issues are just as important as results on the pitch (which I think this thread is more geared toward, so apologies for taking it off track). It speaks to a general failing of those in charge.
