Hardly paltry in thistle terms. The most we have ever received in our transfer history. Good news methinks.

But that's not taking account of inflation.  The £200,000 we got for Mo Johnston would be worth  c.£650,000 in today's money and the £100,000 we got for Alex Forsyth would be worth over £1,000,000, so definitely not the most money we ever got.  Though I've much more confidence whatever money we'd get nowadays for a player would go back into the club/team in some way and not into the back pockets of directors.  (BTW I used this for the calculation: http://inflation.iamkate.com/; none of these things is perfect but they give a good idea).

Almost forgot to say: by recent standards, say the last decade or two, it is a decent amount and the bulk of it should be invested in the Youth System.

Kris Boyd hanging up his boots to concentrate on media work according to todays press so that’s one off the list.

Always sad to hear of a player retiring. Especially someone like Boyd who's given a lot of years to the game. Can he just not piss off and save us from even more years of having to listen to him!
