Championship transfer thread - all the ins...

The transfer window hasn't even opened yet, so unless all we're going to do is sign up out of contract players, it seems a little premature to be panicking about our lack of strikers.

If this forum has taught us anything, surely it's that it is never too early for a good old panic.

Scott Wright released by Aberdeen - think he would be a very good addition if we could sign him, but probably several top flight clubs after him before us

Surprised at Aberdeen letting him go.

Would take him in a heartbeat.

I doubt we'll be signing anyone who isn't out of contract (unless it's for a very low fee) as we don't have that kind of money.  You're right about not panicking.  It's only a few days from the end of May when most contracts usually end, so targets we have will probably be considering other options as well.  Caldwell stated he wanted 2-3 players in before preseason and that's still a week or two away.  It's a pity there are no rumours in the media connecting us with anyone as that'd give us something to yack about but maybe that's a good thing, a sign that we're maybe going about our business quietly behind the scenes.

On the other hand, it’s only 5 weeks till competitive football starts again

Not sure if the players are back for pre season , Caldwell said at the meet the manager night they were doing a 7 week pre season training schedule.

Sun saying Lindsay maybe off to Serie A - think we’d get a cut?

If there's a fee paid, yes.

Saying about £1m...

That would be chump change if they sell him for that.  Hopefully a bidding war ensues.

He played against us five times last season and didn't manage it once, although I'll concede that he was in the winning side on four occasions.

Partick Thistle have held talks with Michael Tidser about joining the club.

The midfielder signed a pre-contract with Falkirk but had an option to void if they got relegated, which they did.

Understand he met with Gary Caldwell on Wednesday.

From journalist Euan Booth Robertson
