allyo isn't old enough to have clear memories of Rough as a player.

Yep. Thanks for clarifying. I think I remember games against Aberdeen  and St Mirren at Firhill but it was when i was getting lifted over the turnstile.

My favourite Jag of all time Jackie Campbell. Now there is a club legend.

I doubt anybody would argue with that. I'd put Campbell up there with Roughie and McParland as my all-time three favourite legends.

My fault for not understanding. Tho' technically it was the pub's fault for serving me too much drink.:)

Roughie out legends Jackie in terms of significance internationally. 54 caps and 3 world cups. Amazing! Will never ever happen again.

I'm sure he used to occasionally turn out for Thistle wearing an international jerseys he'd swapped. Or have I just imagined that?

A player - Shaw, for example - can be considered to have performed legendary acts without having spent a considerable amount of time at the club.

Agree. And I think Shaw's goals at Parkhead are legendary. But he is a character on the legendary tale, rather than the legend. In my opinion.

PS - This is all very subjective. I won't be arguing about it. :)

I think Roughie auctioned off all those jerseys a few years back, as he did with his collection of programmes from his games with Thistle. I bought them (the programmes).

At least Roughie sold the jerseys after he retired, unlike too many so called Jags players in recent seasons.
