Ultra defensive. I presume that the tactic is to hold till half-time, lull the Cuikies into a false sense of security, draw them forward and hit them with the pace of Kakay and the guile of Miller in the second half!?

First 10 minutes looked like we would blow them away. Fantastic run and finish by Cole. After that really poor. Zanatta and Harkins offer nothing up front. 3 of their defenders can pass round them and then they have plenty of spare players flooding forward. Major changes needed to regain control of the game. Miller and Kakay to come on surely.

Dreadful performance. Scoring early seemed to make them think it was game over. If they don't focus and work harder, we're in trouble.

Harkins and Zanatta are hopeless up front. We need Millar and Mansell on.

(Actually beginning to think Zanatta is a bit of a waste of space irrespective of who we're playing...)

Our complacency since scoring has been a disgrace. After about 40 minutes Fox got the ball and they all walked away with their head down, no interest from any of them to take the ball except O’Ware.

if we don’t get our act together,  this will be Culter all over again

Looks like we are almost in total agreement and Miller, Mansell and Kakay will all have to come on.

Penicuik have squandered 2 very presentable chances. They are growing in confidence and could cause us severe problems unless there is a halftime wake up.

Absolutely awful. Could have scored 3 or 4 but our standard of play was as bad as I've seen the last few years. Only positive that's 3 wins......clutches at straws.

In the cups it’s all about the result and winning. We’re in the hat for the next round and that’s what matters.

QoS  and Dunfermline fans can’t say that tonight......and Morton fans have a replay against Brora to look forward to.

i have no doubt that Mr McCall will deal with the performance issue.

Good to get through, but if Penicuik are troubling us at Firhill then we don’t have the right squad or mentality. But I remain optimistic that McCall can address this over the next 2-3 months.

I’m thinking the same about zanatta- looks nothing like the player who played for Alloa last season

Zanatta is a pathetic excuse for a football player and seems to have got worse with every game.

His tactic of diving when he loses the ball is embarrassing in the extreme.

The dives are even very poorly executed and utterly unconvincing, and must stop.

In some way the worst start. However, they had the chances, real chances, to go 2-1 up.

McCall has his work cut out with this shower. Be interesting to see the after-match reaction on this one. No doubt it'll be along the lines of  'we got the result that's the main thing'. Reaction from the Jags fans at the end says different.

Can't bear to think about Tuesday night.

A typical Thistle performance this season has comprised of three phases: first dominance, then complacency, then panic.

Unfortunately, today the complacency kicked in at, what, two minutes?

Too many of the current squad don't seem to understand that winning games requires concentration and effort - being a 'good footballer' isn't enough.

I don't think McCall needs a massive clear out in January, but I do think he needs to make three key signings - a center half, a centre midfielder and a centre forward. We need to put a spine into the team of players who have the right attitude. Players who hate losing and who take every tackle/throw-in/corner lost as a personal afront.

Oh, and a word needs to be had with Zanatta - Thistle players don't play like that.
