In the summer other options are available but in January it will be about getting the best of limited choices.

Much could depend on our next few results. The nearer the bottom the tendency would be to go for quick fix players (experience over potential). If we were to move further up the table we might see younger prospects coming in.

As you say there will be limited choices anyway. Even on the back of two wins I wouldn't be too miffed if we used this window primarily for damage limitation purposes. That and two or three younger prospects on pre contract could be the way we go.

Ross Docherty was a standout at our recent march v Ayr. He is very similar to Banzo though.

Think he's right sided (tho' good with both feet) and a cleaner tackler than Bannigan. Actually probably the exact type of player Banzo needs to play beside. Pleased to hear this.

According to the Daily Record Ross Docherty Of Ayr United has agreed a 2 year deal with us on a pre contract

If that’s the case then McCall is making some very impressive signings for next season

Pleased to see the start of the squad rebuild.

While all these pre contracts are targeting good players and are welcome I do wonder what effect it will have on existing players  who may read iinto it that they have no future at firhill nest year - not really motivating!

Trust McCall 100% ! When was the last time we even signed someone on a pre contract? Planning ahead already makes a bloody change.

These pre contract signings  signifies that McCall reckons we will not go up this year through the play offs and that any signings in January will be short term deals or loans to keep us up?  Also shows that McCall will as he has done before is focus on Scottish market rather than down south - not sure if he has many contacts down there anyway.

Either that or building a team for 1st division next year!  Kidding of course!
