Arbroath vs Partick Thistle

That was awful.

Given the wind meant that no football could be played in the first half, you'd have thought the team might have recognised that and play accordingly. Fox repeatedly booting the ball to the left side of the pitch and watching it sailing out of play - and I mean repeatedly, over and over and over again - summed up how we played. "Let's ignore the conditions and try to play like it's a nice sunny day..."

The only consolation I can take from that dreadful performance is that maybe when the new players bed in, we can turn it around.

As it stands, we're for the drop.

The lack of games to end of season is very worrying! The we will be ok mindset , we’re too good to go down nonsense needs to change now. We aren’t too good, we are in reality utterly dreadful! To take one point from 9 against Arbroath is simply pathetic!

And that was Gary Caldwell!!!!!

Yes. You would think the last two years would ram home the fact we have been rotten, and over the last 15 months we have been bottom, or almost bottom of the league for a reason!

Unfortunately with new players, and it seems more arriving next week, it might take a few games for them to settle in. Time we don’t really have. I hope McCall isn’t going to do an Ayr on us and take us down first......

What happened to Rudden, injured in the warm up? Noticed Austin wasn’t on the bench... although he has had hardly any game time maybe McCall’s made up his mind and he’s leaving too....Henderson recalled to Celtic from Ross C but not in their 18 today... 2+2 = 100 maybe

its tough being a Jags fan!

Henderson has played for Celtic so he is going nowhere in this window.

That was horrendous. Whatever the respective corner count was will reflect just how much Arbroath were in command. Thought at one point that Fox was trying to get the game abandoned by kicking as many balls out the ground as he possibly could. He even enlisted McGinty's help on that score. Can't think of a single positive the whole game.

Maybe we are being unduly pessimistic after today's game.  I wasn't there but the strong wind must have been decidedly in Arbroath's favour  - being used to these conditions.  It seemed to be the proverbial game of two halfs. That, plus the re-jigged Thistle side, was bound to make it a struggle.

Everyone seems happy about the transfer window signings (and un-signings) with perhaps more new faces to come.  The team should improve and the stability should allow McCall to make his mark on what is now (almost) his side.
