Looking at it from the perspective that none of the teams immediately above us will have games in hand after this afternoon. We'll have a clear picture of the job required.

Know what you mean and agree with you. But the job w require to do is win football games. We have not won since the 28th December away to Morton, only 2 points from 5 league games this year so far.

We really need this game to be on, regardless of wind, rain, painting or golf. If it is postponed, it will be replayed at a time other than 3pm on a Saturday.

I have done a quick analysis of our games so far this season, and my calculations are as follows.

We have played 24 League and Cup games at 3pm on a Saturday. Results:

Won 11 Drawn 3 Lost 10.

Assuming points awarded for all cup games as for league games, that is 36 points and therefore an average of 1.5 points per game.

We have played 12 League and Cup games at times other than 3pm on a Saturday. Results:

Won 3 Drawn 3 Lost 6.

12 points and therefore an average of 1 point per game.

Einstein's conclusion from this data is that we have more chance of getting more points from this game if played at 3pm tomorrow.

So it is singing in the rain time. Get out that balaclava, AJ!

Just to complete the research.

12 games to go, all in the League. Today's postponement means 6 games on Saturdays at 3pm, and 6 games with alternative timings.

If we continue to accrue points in the same way, that is 9 points from the regularly timed games and 6 points from the irregular.

Total is 15 more points to add to our current 23, meaning that we finish on 38 points.

We would be unlucky to be 10th, but very lucky to be 8th, with that total. So Einstein is predicting the play-offs.

I suppose with that total, we do have the opportunity of overtaking any of the 8 teams above us, but not all of them.
