Season tickets will bomb if relegated

Rangers, Hearts, Stranraer and Partick have it right there is no need to link payment of end of season monies to the  vote.

The fact the SPFL  have done this fools no one. It is a transparent and clumsy device to encourage hard pressed clubs to vote for the season to end so that they can get the money!  I have always thought the football authorities in Scotland  are ethically and morally corrupt and this form of blackmail proves the case!

As for the prospects of reconstruction - don't count on it. Budge has already seen through this! She knows clubs like Kilmarnock, Hibs, Aberdeen, the Dundee Clubs, especially United and Motherwell will oppose changing the League structure, certainly at SPL level.

As I said a couple of weeks ago we should team up with Rangers and Hearts and any other clubs who are opposed to this plan and embark on a vigorous challenge.

And kill the club completely?

It would not kill the Club.

Firstly, the SPFL would  probably back down; other Clubs would support us and threaten to do the same.

If none of the above changed things, then yes we drop down. It would not kill the Club, there would be a groundswell of support, respect and recognition that a Club was prepared to take a principled stance against bullying.

It’s a ridiculous notion but l’ll play along.

What if the SPFL accepted our resignation - what then?

Nonsense. If the club offered to resign then the SPFL would then start issuing threats of fines etc. Could the club survive that? And if the club persisted then they may be expelled from the league with penalties and the club would have no league to play in. Hence the death of the club. You are utterly delusional if you think SPFL would back down.

Again I ask - what would you do?

You spend your life being negative- telling everyone why things will not work, why we should sack our manager after half a season etc etc.

Let us have your solution?  Or are you in the category of " Its no fair but ho hum what can you do, lets just accept it and get back in our box"

Jesus! You've lost it. How is it negative to want the club to survive, whereas your 'plan' a completely ridiculous and laughable one, would kill the club. You honestly think that the SFA/ SPFL would be concerned about us offering to resign from the membership? If anything they would love to flex their muscles and make an example of us as a warning too other members. Wake up! Your 'plan'is if bampottery levels.

So for the 3rd time I ask ( respectfully) What is your Plan?

We have to accept a democratic vote by the members. If it goes against us, that's hellish, but there is nothing we can practically do. And your ' plan's is not a plan. It is rank irresponsibility.

Okay now we're getting somewhere, so you think we just accept our fate .

That' s certainly a viewpoint and would be  in keeping with the normal PTFC approach to life. We are a small irrelevant club and will do what we are told.

Its not an approach I agree with but everyone is entitled to their view.

Then we find another League to play in.

When you factor in that there would be Falkirk and us in a league with one automatic promotion spot then your statement has seems more than plausible.

Even if we didn't die we could be in the footballing wilderness for a long time.

Arguably we already are in a footballing wilderness! Remember this. We did win back to back promotions under Lambie. At that time people feared the worst. We bounced back and arguably we are in a better position financially now than we were then.

If you resign from a league, or get expelled you are most certainly not going to be allowed to join any other league as ALL football is controlled by the SFA, and their other level of administrators.

In regards to the terms of our membership, we would have to accept our fate.

How come Clydebank are still going then?

The current Clydebank have no connection technically with the previous incarnation. The previous incarnation is still going, rebranded as Airdrieonians (via Airdrie United)

So there are ways round it.

The back to back promotions under Lambie were great but we had 2 seasons in the 2nd Division before we Lambie got us out of there. At that time we had a board and chairman that we were pretty united behind and who were generally financially competetent. We didn't have a high wage bill or a playing staff on large expensive contracts.

This time around we have J Low and a question mark on ownership as well as a squad on contracts designed to get a return to the premier league. We might also be looking at a scenario where either games are played behind closed doors due ongoing corona virus restrictions or crowds being lower than normal due to being in league 1 and people being nervous due to corana virus in attending football games.

Relegation to league 1 is never great but this time around it could be very problematic for any fulltime club to survive. Whilst resigning from the league is not something we can reasonably do we should be taking forward a joint legal action with Hearts, Falkirk etc to at least sue for compensation/ special parachute payment if this plan goes ahead.
