Jacqui Low steps down as Three Black Cats Director

Recommended Posts

Jacqui Low has resigned as a director of Three Black Cats.

Statement from the PTFC Working Group is here https://partickthistlefcworkinggroup.com/2020/05/01/jacqui-low-resignation-from-three-black-cats/

"We are surprised as any Thistle fan at the news of Jacqui Low’s resignation as a director of Three Black Cats.

We don’t currently know where this leaves us or how it will impact upon the move towards a fan owned Partick Thistle.

We are presently attempting to clarify the situation and will provide a further update as and when we are in receipt of any information."

Without wishing to jump the gun this may suggest that Colin Weir's Executors have waded-in.

Key questions to ask:

  • is she still the Chairman of PTFC?
  • is the intention still to transfer the shares held by TBC to the fan-owned entity?
  • is the intention still to transfer the land owned by TBC to PTFC?

And if the answer is yes to any of these three questions:

  • for how much longer/how soon?
  • subject to what conditions?

Slightly weirdly it appears she resigned as a TBC Director on 27 April but was then reappointed on 29 April according to Companies House.

No idea what's going on there.

Yes correct....maybe there is an annual re appointment process or time limit

There is no evidence of there having been (say) an annual re-appointment mechanism first requiring resignation since its incorporation, nor is there evidence that any rule applied, for example, to the other director. The only resignations have been Colin Weir's (on death) and Jacqui Low's (on Monday).

A spokesman for Murray Beith Murray, solicitors to Three Black Cats have issued the following:

“In addressing a technical issue unrelated to the company’s holding in PTFC, Ms Low is shown on Companies House as having resigned and having then been reappointed as a Director of Three Black Cats. There was a time lag in recording her continuing appointment with Companies House but that has now been done. We regret any issues or difficulties this may have caused Ms Low.”

It explains a technicality in the time gap. Doesn’t explain why a director would resign from a role then be reappointed to same role

It doesn't say that she did resign, jut that Companies House have it recorded that she resigned. If anything, it looks to me like a **** up at companies house,

You have to complete and then submit a form (TM01) to resign, using a login. That form is online. Someone has obviously pressed the wrong button. Then they corrected it by submitting the appointment of directors form (AP01) again by logging in, completing and submitting.

Companies house don’t just remove directors.
