Split parliment - 3 or 4 months of shambles, another election with Brown out, Labour win.

A wee prediction from me.

You wonder if the Governor of the Bank of England is right, though.

The scale of the mistakes made in our economy, and the unaffordability of the public sector, means that we are faced with substantial cuts whoever comes in. Whatever happens. BoE chief thinks that whoever is in charge as it happens will be unelectable for a generation afterwards. Maybe it's best to lose this one...

Your prediction of a shambles is probably right, but I'd expect a proper coalition to emerge with no second election (from what I hear).

Apparently lots have been drawn for each tv debate - to determine who speaks first, second and third in the 3 leaders opening and closing statements.

Same goes for who stands at which pedestal.

Maybe so, but I believe it was agreed that Brown could stand on the (our) right due to his poor eyesight, I'm sure I heard this before the first debate.

do you and tam do the scary stories on the whichery tours in edinburgh as well whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Sometimes. Love to tell them the stories about the corrupt artistocracy being hung in the Grassmarket.

This would be what the Tories would have us back to - http://www.executedtoday.com/2008/09/02/1724-half-hangit-maggie-dickson/

The Economist has today come out in favour of the Conservatives, having backed Labour at the last three elections. It's a very influential paper and usually picks winners...

Just a shame it failed to predict the banking crisis and economic meltdown

There is only one party that has won this election, even disregarding the actual results.

Its a Liberal Democrat future :D

I beleive you.

Great performance throughout this campaign.........have you thought of applying for the vacancy for Tory Leader which may come up around a week today?

You're mistaken - the vacancy will be "Leader of the Opposition" but it will no longer be a Tory in that job! :thumbsup2:

Thank you for the compliment though - right back at you. It's almost as if we're forming a coalition on this very forum...

Honestly - not at all.

Then you are a very scary man indeed.

A return to the I'm alright and stuff the rest values of Thatcherism would be an absolute disaster for millions of people. I for one dread the thought of trying to get myself a decent job when I am made redundant next year if we are under a government of Eton toffs.

Of course, it might not be a disaster for me as I think it would seal the deal for independence when Scotland finally realises that in order to make sure the Tories never rule Scotland again, we have to go it alone.

Sad but true
