thistledome
Right Lads n ' Lasses, HONEST TRUTH TIME! I might be 11,000miles away in Sydney but I keep up to date with all that is going on at Firhill via this website and my mates and family back home. Once again we appear to be in a self destruct mode and definately in the great Unpredictable mode where we are either Brillaint or Absolute Tripe! So I ask you all really, where do you think we'll finish this season as I don't feel really confident that we'll finish higher than where we are at the moment ? I've seen the games on the PTTV and other sites and sometimes the way we played is outstanding then we go and blow it all and lose at home to some team well below us in the division. Why do we have a problem with consistency unlike Ross County for instance. What to they do that differs from our game? I just can't imagine them being in the premier league next season. For mine they are a1st div team and that's it but good luck to them if they do go up.Thistle should be looking at them big time and saying to themselves that it should be them up there at the top but alas and alack we are in the middle yet again and look like staying there unless Jackie cam wave a magic wand over the festive season and change things around. Mibees County will have a horror run in the new year and start to slump who knows but one things for sure Thistle will always be the great unpredicatables just as they have been for, for the past 100 years! Jaggernaut
Unfortunately, I reckon we might finish 4th at best. A bit of false optimism from the great run of two consecutive wins, but now reality has sunk in. There's something very different between Thistle and all three of Ross County, Dundee, and Falkirk, who are beating just about everybody week after week (except each other), whereas we are entirely hit or miss. And it has to be said, that it's our goal scoring, or more precisely lack thereof, that is the big problem. Strikers look week, and they're not even being asked to play as strikers, but to run back towards the centre and collect balls. So the problem is also coming from midfield. And yet Cairney is excellent, and Rowser is playing well too. Fcktifano.
Chicofan
Every time we get the faintest sniff of going on a decent run we make a Rex Hunt of it. After this latest "blip" i am now convinced we are condemned to the turgid mediocrisy of mid table First Division piffle for ever more! The Legend Blows
I'm positive we'll finish 5th. Win 12 Draw 12 Lose 12 with zero goal difference. Draw coming up on Boxing Day followed by a defeat to Ross C, lose in Scottish cup then win the Friday night fixture at Hamilton. Let me know if you want the outcomes for the remainder of this seasons fixtures?

A team full of experienced players at this level. We have a lot of kids, learning their trade. In saying that so do Falkirk and so far they have coped better than us. We need to find some consistancy. I had a feeling we were going to struggle on Saturday. We don't seem to cope well against Raith Rovers. We have to learn and very quickly, how to break teams like them down......starting on Boxing Day as I can see Queens setting up to be hard to beat as opposed to attack minded and going for the win. Albert's Ghost
Falkirk have one hell of a good striker.
Dark Passenger
They do, yes, but they also have a number of players who set up chances for him. That's the real difference between us and them.
Kirkie Jag
We'll finish mid-table, predicted we would and it seems we're going that way. I think as well we are so used to being a yoyo team over the last 13 years, that we are all hoping to become stable and put in a challenge, instead we have become a steady mid-table 1st Division side. Some seasons I would take a relegation battle just so our season isn't over by January.

Kirkie Jag
Careful what you wish for! I realise that, especially when it comes to Thistle. It would be nice to mix things up a bit, although I would obviously rather it be at the other end of the table.

lady-isobel-barnett
Our inconsistency may well be down to our youthful squad. Take Falkirk's striker out the equation and there's another youthful team who would I'm sure be just as inconsistent. Biggest worry is not being equipped with the battling journeymen type to see us out of a relegation fight. Biggest hope would be that with increasing experience we become less inconsistent from a positive point of view. At a guess having spoken with quite a few fans a mid table finish is a likely outcome. I'm not even sure that a top four finish with Cup exemption till the January round is that much of a plus point if indeed it's of benefit at all. chunky jag
El Alagui ripped us to shit at Brockville, and from the 2 games I've seen, he's quite clearly an SPL striker. But other than that, our squad is vastly more experienced than Falkiirks. I think they have match winners in the wee winger, Kallum something (Higginbotham?), and I really think the wee guy in midfield Blair Alston has a huge future. Our main problem is we're shite. It's as simple as that. Cairney looks the business this season. Doolan did last year but hasn't kicked a ball, but he hasn't had the service. Sinclair has the raw ingredients to play at the top level but has went off the boil. Fox was outstanding last season, but for me Scully has looked the better keeper this season. I'll hold my hands up and say I'm wrong, I predicted pre-season a Hamilton-Morton title race, didn't see Ross C and Falkirk in the equation at all, so that shows how unpredictable this league is, but I just never see Thistle springing a suprise. We've got too many average players.
