And nobody can really say it seems what he was banned for given that the admin havent said what the reasons are,,, but the timing of the banning seems to correspond to his posts on rememberance day and that seems to be one of the main speculations that have been offered by people on this thread (including your previous posts second sentence..) As for the sexual predilictions stuff - if that was the reason for the banning then surely he shouldve been banned there and then... The first one has to be one of the funniest posts in forum history; although it eventually did descend into total anarchy after a while; but many threads do. Indeed, does anyone remember the vegetarian mass-murderers thread where a loony Marxist suggested that most mass murderers who were any good at their craft were non-meat eaters? What Siege Siege puts on here is probably no worse than that... The thread mentioned was put on as a bit of fun to get a reaction when the forum was slow. Fact is Siege Siege's posts are read and he can set the forum alight; so bring his keyboard back please. In mitigation, given also that the person in question is not a native to these islands and English might not be a first language, I think we have to cut him some slack and couldn't the Remembrance Day thread have been simply nipped in the bud with a slap across the wrists from a moderator? But maybe I misunderstand how moderation works on this forum. I know I was also guilty of rising to the bait and fired off a response; but that’s all part of the forum. As someone has said, some of our more colourful politicians have put out similar sentiments but with more eloquence. The problem here is that Siege Siege 00 has been banned and no one appears to know why. I'm guessing the wee man is none the wiser but will be able to view posts from a distance. But in general, if any of us over step the line (wherever that line is) then surely a quick post stopping the thread, even removing it if necessary, would be appropriate. After that, a PM outlining where the person has transgressed and a sanction (appropriate ban period) would be appropriate. In this case, it looks as if a sanction has been applied but no explanation given; this is an assertion based purely on what I've read here. A quick closing point is that this is NOT an attack on the forum moderators - who do a first rate job and the success of this forum is testament to that - just an appeal for common sense. SS 00 probably over-stepped an imaginary line, has been punished and has done his time, so why not allow him back on? “By the way, I hate the World Archery Federation!” That announcement still raises a smile… Let him back on, you know it makes sense.
