Come Home to Firhill

Christmas is a very special time of year. It's a time when people travel from near and far to spend time with their families and friends.

We like to think that we're a family here at Firhill and we're hoping to welcome home as many of our extended Thistle family as possible to our Boxing Day fixture with Morton.

Saturday's 3-2 win over Raith Rovers means Thistle fans across the globe can sit down and enjoy their Christmas Dinner with the current Thistle side, considered by many to be the finest to have represented the Club for many a year, sitting proudly two points clear atop the First Division with an important game in hand.

If you haven't, as yet, had the opportunity to watch the team in person then Boxing Day would seem the perfect time to join the rest of the Thistle family, take a seat at Firhill and enjoy what should be a cracking game against the side currently in third position in the league table.

It's also the perfect opportunity to blow away a few cobwebs after the previous day's celebrations and meet up with friends. The game too represents a perfect chance to tempt any lapsed fans back home to Firhill.

If you are coming home for Christmas then make sure that you "Come Home to Firhill" as well.

We've much planned in the lead up to the game and on the matchday itself and to kick things off we're launching a Furthest Travelled Fan competition.

If you are travelling a distance to see the Boxing Day game with Morton, then simply e-mail the Club at [email protected] (using "Furthest Travelled Fan Competition" in the subject title) and we'll calculate who has travelled the furthest. Closing date for e-mails, December 22nd.

The winner will be introduced to the crowd at half-time and draw the winning tickets in the 50/50 half-time draw as well as getting the opportunity to meet manager Jackie McNamara after the game.

Better still - the winner will receive two free tickets to the Ramsdens Cup Final in April!
