thriller
Just to keep the feelgood factor going this week with the Cup Final and the League within our grasp , I feel it`s a good time to mention and praise the exploits of our under 15s who are on an undefeated run of 19 games , including a game last week at Lennoxtown when they thumped Celtic 4-2 after going a goal down .Just hope the club can get a few of these lads signed up before the big guns come calling .C`mon the Jags.

read'n'yell
I should probably know this, but who are all our youth coaches at the moment? Is Gerry Britton still actively involved? Seem to be doing a top job.
maryhilljag
Know a few parents of boys within the youth set up and none of our youth teams have been invited to the final.
Mr Bunny
Know a few parents of boys within the youth set up and none of our youth teams have been invited to the final. Perhaps the club has no say in whether this can happen.

If they do come calling perhaps we should point out the cases of O'Donnel and Bannigan who had to come to Thistle (from a 'big' club) to get a real chance of first team football. This Celtic team would be a year younger at 14's but still a great result and a great experience for the Thistle boys. A great run also the 15's are on although as you will know it's more development than competitive games at these age groups. To compete with the PY clubs Thistle really need to make the step up to this level for the boys to get the extra training and more competitive games to develop even futher. I also think if this happens they will bring in a higher standard of player to start with and make Thistle competitive with other clubs at this level in attracting the best boys to the club. Hopefully this happens soon as it will benefit all the youth teams.and Thistle will get a higher standard of player at the end of it. Teams like Queens Park, Hamilton, Stenhousemuir, Ayr Utd are all at the higher Performance level. A club Thistle's size should also be at that level competing with the big clubs and hopefully with the way this season is going the feel good factor carries on after cup and league title wins to the youths going Performance tier. Now that is a nice thought.
