A Bing Solution

Maybe the club/propco could do a funding app to scottish arts council (or whatever its called now) to get money for a resident artist to do something with the bing. Plus having an artist in residency would definatey add to our 'cultured' image.

I'd go for something like this:

Some in red, some in yellow, some in black.

How about a red & yellow reproduction of the Callanish standing stones?

They're part of our Scottish cultural heritage and there's a bonus; if the team isn't performing too well, we can ceremonially sacrifice a virgin at the next spring/autumn equinox!

Mind you…….finding a virgin in Maryhill, that's going to be problematic.

The Callanish stones are line up with the Winter Solstice.....

what about investing into a scoreboard or something

A big electronic scoreboard/noticeboard. Could be financed by advertising. Maybe even turn a wee profit?

I'd go for something like this:

That's just reminded me Willie Collum is the ref on Saturday :(

There's some good ideas in this thread, definitely.

But we need to remember that the club don't own this land, which could be a barrier towards doing anything.

The summer would definitely be a good time to get things moving on the bing.

The club has a half interest in propco. If I recall, there are more people sitting on Thistle's board with shares in propco than there are people with Thistle shares sitting on Thistle's board.

Thistle shareholders were treated to the spectacle of their directors throwing tantrums about questions over that relationship last year.

I'm quite sure the club and propco could 'talk to each other' about improving the bing, Ian. Hopefully, they'll also improve the catering and foul toilets in time for next season, too.

David Shrigley :thumbsup2:

Supposedly Thistle minded, Turner nominated conceptional artist.

Hadn't heard he was that good in the sack...

Fantastic idea though!!! Great artist and all-round top bloke. An arrangement of Shrigley sculptures would be a brilliant use of the bing until we get the covered safe standing area built.

I believe he's to be seen occasionally in The Doublet...

Or, of course, the club could just email him:
